
The LaGuardia Small Business Development Center opened its doors in October 2001 in response to the needs of small businesses after the 9/11 Disaster. Since then the center continues to provide professional and in-depth business management counseling for existing and start-up businesses in English, Spanish and Chinese. The LaGuardia SBDC is a recognized leader not only in providing business assistance but also in serving the needs of minority and new immigrant businesses.
Since inception the center has served over 8,000 business owners with business counseling and training and has helped infuse more than $25 million in business loans and disaster-related grants into the business community. The SBDC is partially funded by the Small Business Administration and is part of the LaGuardia Community College Centers of Economic Development.
