Flushing Chinese owned businesses and economic impact for the local economy: Since its inception October 1, 2001, the Center has:
- Counseled over 2,170 small businesses and continues to see roughly 300 clients each year
- Obtained $25 million dollars in disaster, regular small business loans and grants
- Saved or created 907 jobs in the local economy
Educating, engaging and strengthening New York City’s Businesses
Since its inception, the Center has presented:
- 300 seminars, panels, and workshops
- 5,380 attendees comprised of existing local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs
- Attendees are approximately 50% minorities and 50% women, Extraordinary Return On Investment
- For the 10/1/04 to 9/30/05 FY, $1 dollar invested, NYS saw a return of $1.78 in NYS tax revenues(The New York State Small Business Development Center Statistical Summary & Economic Analysis)
- SBDC in-depth clients generate $2.82 in new federal tax revenue for every $1 spent by the U.S. government on the SBDC program.

· Dun & Bradstreet: 94.9% of SBDC counseled start-ups were still in business 5 years later compared with nation-wide data indicating that generally 90% of all firms close within 5 years.
