Through One-on-One Counseling, The LaGuardia SBDC offers professional and confidential business management advice to hundreds of clients each year. Over the course of one or more counseling sessions, clients work directly with a Business Advisor to develop and implement a plan to start a new venture, expand an existing business, obtain financing or address a range of business challenges.

Dun & Bradstreet: 94.9% of SBDC counseled start-ups were still in business 5 years later compared with nation-wide data indicating that generally 90% of all firms close within 5 years.

While rooted in solid business ethics and frameworks, the workshops are highly practical as they draw from the SBDC’s experience working with real-life issues of entrepreneurs in its daily counseling sessions.
