The LaGuardia SBDC is an organizational partner of the annual World Trade Week NYC, as well as a winner of the 2007 Department of Commerce Export Appreciation Award for its work to support international trade businesses with counseling and educational programs including workshops and events.

The LaGuardia SBDC also partners with the New York State Small Business Development Center International Business Development (IBD) to help businesses that would like to enter and expand into some of the largest and fastest developing countries in the world.

The IBD has strategically positioned small-and medium-sized businesses to take maximum advantage of business and trade opportunities primarily in the Chinese marketplace. The NYS/SBDC has nurtured major contacts and resources and an unparalleled network within government and business circles in China on the local, regional and national levels.  These partnerships reduce the level of risk associated with business and trade.  The program also assists new-to-export and new-to-market, expansion to the emerging Chinese marketplace. The SBDC’s direct assistance helps New York’s small and medium sized businesses navigate a course to profitability through a wide range of language, regulatory, business practice & customs considerations.
